Birthday/Christmas Suggestions...

yea yea yea i know its early but i need to start thinking about it...
both my kids birthdays are in November 1 the 6th and the other the 23rd, so we spend alot of money between Nov & Dec.
I want to start my shopping -- ive already bough the baby 2 things.
I wanted peoples opinions on how you go about your birthday/xmas shopping.
Do you set a $$ amount per kid? or do you say each kid is getting XX amount of presents?
What do you do for your kids birthdays?
I dont know why im stressing over this, but i am! haha HELP!

*I think for the baby im going to focus on Bath Toys and Little People... he loves BathTime & So far he LOVES all his sisters little people! By Xmas he will be a year old and most of the little people sets say 1+ so that works! *

  1. We get them whatever they want from Santa..sometimes we try to coax them into something that we know they would like. We then fill up a pottery barn bag with other stuff they may have said I wish Santa would get me this, or that we say no to. Then we get them about 10 gifts! We go big at christmas. For their birthday we normally spend 50-100 depending on their party. Normally we dont do a lot for their birthday because they get sooo much from family. I of course buy all year. Save some money..In August Target goes 75% off most toys!!

  2. O yea and Amazon, Hasbro Toy Shop, TRU and Kohls have awesome deals in Oct-December!! I always score big time usually saving 60+% on everything! Black Friday is huge too! Just set aside money every week and you will have the UPS guy at your door every day in December :)

  3. Having only one child, we luck out with this. We do not set a $$ limit. But because he is 12 and a gamer, his wist list is expensive, so I shop throughout the year. We are lucky in that used games are actually what he prefers, so we save some there.

  4. I don't know if I can be much help, because I don't celebrate Christmas and I don't have any kids. I would say as far as gifts, your youngest one, is the easiest to shop for. My friend who has kids usually gets clothing. It is something he is going to wear but also, he isn't old enough to really want specific things. If your daughter likes clothing this works for her too. I also recommend the dollar store. They have tons of cool gifts. When I go to visit my parents, my 8 year old brother always asks me to take him to the dollar store. I give him a $5.00 limit and he usually gets a few things he really likes. There are tons of cool toys, and you can get pretty creative with your gifts. Even your daughter might enjoy gifts from there. They have fake barbies. If she has barbies already, you can always purchase the clothing for her barbies from there. I buy wrapping paper right after Christmas, I have gotten some as cheap as $0.12. Also bows and everything run that cheap too, and save them until the following year. JCPenney has $10 off $10 or more coupons that they send out every month. If you get those, you can just use them to buy your Christmas gifts. There is probably going to be at least another 3 coupons before Christmas. Clearance prices, plus the coupons, you can get a lot of great deals. I have walked out of the store with almost $300 worth of stuff that cost me $0.94 out of pocket after the $10 off coupon. I just shopped clearance. Good luck!
