Justice Issue

My Daughter got a $25 Justice GC for Christmas.. she couldn't wait to use it! We went yesterday, and let her do her shopping. Usually when we walk in we're greeted multiple times with HELLO Welcome to Justice, etc. But not yesterday. We walked in and no one even made eye contact. Felt a little strange but whatever, not a huge deal. So my daugther headed over to the clearance section first. On the shelf is a tag that sales 40% off the entire store - no to and from dates or anything like that. So we went by that sign and figured out her totals by that. She picked out 4 Shirts. Her total after savings should have been a little over $25. In the mean time the 2 associates are flirting with a security guard at the front of the store, not paying any attention to anyone in the store. Someone had asked where they could find a certain item, and the employee just pointed in that general direction - she couldn't be bothered to walk away from the security guard. A little girl about my daughters age - between 8 or 10 walked to close to the door and the alarm went off. The two associates thought it would be funny to start yelling "security, security!! Get her!" The little girls face turned bright red. Joke or not, you don't do that to a child. All their joke did was embarrass her. So we get up to the registers and STILL the associates are at the front of the store, not paying attention to the back of the store -- i mean hell people could have been stuffing their bags with clothes, and they would have never known! We waited 5 minutes for someone to come up and wait on us along with another mother and daughter. Not only did both associates come wait on the two of us, but another associate came out of nowhere too, but she walked behind the register hand and hand with her [assuming] boyfriend [who didn't work there], into the backroom. Then we realize there is a little girl about 10/11 years old standing behind the register with a Justice landyard around her neck, w/her name on it w/Intern written underneath it. Not sure who she belonged to, but all we know is that she dropped $5 twice [cause thats all they kept talking about while we were standing there.] So anyway.. they ring my daughter up, and the total comes to $53.xx.. we said thats with the 40% off? She cashier says the 40% is only off relines and none of these are red lines. We informed her that the sign says 40% off the entire store! She says in a snotty tone "WHERE!!" So she pointed to it. She never went over and looked at it, nor did anyone go and take it down [i mean couldn't the "INTERN" gone and done that?!]. So my daughter had to decide what she wanted to do now - which shirts she wanted and didn't want. The cashier kept sighing like we were wasting her time. She never offered to do anything for us. Even 20% off would have been fine, even if it was just off one item! We never even got a "sorry"! There was not point in asking who the manager was cause we never would have gotten anywhere with those 3, if one of them was the manager! So we called corp. right when we left, and got a call back today. The lady my husband spoke to was very nice, and understanding, yet annoyed that this all happened. She asked what my daughter was planning to buy, how much we ended up paying, etc. Then asked for our address and said shes sending our daughter a $25, as well as speaking with the district manager, and making sure this got dealt with and never happened again! I'm very happy with the outcome, and my daughter had a big smile on her face when I told her what she was getting, cause she was super bummed when she had to put her shirts back -- however she acted very mature about it. I think she saw how childish the ADULTS were acting! All i know is that the Enfield, CT store is one Justice store we will never be shopping at again! We love the West Springfield, MA store -- the girls are always very helpful, and have even helped my daughter shop when they didn't have 1 of the things she wanted.. they put a whole nother outfit together for her! I thought it was very sweet of them - they didn't need to do that! And a big thank you to Rachell* who dealt with this situation with us today! We really appreciate her understanding and help!!

  1. I maybe take my daughter shopping at Justice once a year near school time if that (now!). I have never had a very good experience. The signage is beyond confusing and even the workers have never been able to explain what it all means...that having a coupon doesn't work because the whole store is 40%..then why send me frick'n coupon when I live 60+ minutes away and thought oh what a great time to plan a trip to Justice. And, redline, discount, 40% blah blah blah. And it seems there is always a deal going on. How about reducing the cost and less 'sales' to constantly confuse you. Glad you wrote about it...it's been a rant forever with me.
